Lake George

June 24 - July 2

We will absolutely be visiting Lake George again! We fell in love. There is so much to explore in this area! This was our first trip in an RV kid free, so we chose camp grounds based on that, and we were able to find a quiet, nice campground, on a river, about a 10 minute drive away from the lake. We stayed at Lake George Riverview campground https://lakegeorgeriverview.com/. Our site was right on the quiet river, sites along the river do not have septic. We were not sure how this was going to play out, but because it was just my husband and I (and we have a big tank) we were able to pull it off! As far as for amenities, it was a very basic place. Small pool, wouldn't be a great campground for kids based off not too much to do, very small playground, but for just us it was perfect. Cute walk into a tiny town, very nice campers around, and most of all just all around relaxing for the downtime we were looking for.

We were excited about how much there ended up being to do in the Lake George area. The tourist area of Lake George was great. Food, coffee shops, biking, a nice public beach and a public park. And a few cute shops and ice cream! They also have some "old school" arcades, it was fun to play and be a kid at heart! We found a coffee shop called Bank cafe, and we will be going again when we visit. They had the best ham egg and cheese on a bagel I have had in a long time, made with love and so delicious! They also had great coffee and a really cute patio to sit outside on. Im sure everything else they make there is great too! https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100067089573251

There is a great bike path for some safe bike riding (with some good hills, yikes!) https://warrencountyny.gov/sites/default/files/dpw/Parks_Rec07/pdfFiles/Bikeway%20Map%201.pdf (map)

Bolton Landing was probably our favorite place that we stumbled upon. A bit more quiet and upscale. Nice dining, a few cute stores and lots of adorable hotels to stay at on the lake!! I want to go back and stay in some of them!! Lake front and so quaint. We searched restaurants and stumbled upon one of our favorites, Bella vita, the restaurant that was inside of the hotel we got married at (The Samoset in Camden Maine). In Lake George, this restaurant was inside of the Sagamore, a similar hotel in a beautiful location near Bolton Landing. https://www.opalcollection.com/sagamore/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=listing&utm_campaign=opal%20the%20sagamore%20resort I highly recommend visiting here! Whether you just have dinner or stay, it's a pretty special location and place! Make sure to try the pear martini while you are there, WOW!
