Bar Harbor KOA / Oceanside

July 12-15

Off we go! 23 days on the road and first stop Bar Harbor/ Acadia. One of our favorite places!! We have stayed at a few RV parks in Bar Harbor, and this one is absolutely our favorite. From just about every site you can see the ocean, and the sunsets are stunning here! From this campground you can get to bar harbor in 15 minutes, and Acadia National Park in 20-30 minutes.

We Brought electric bikes with us for this trip, so that we could get a bit further with Summer if we hit some hills! They came in really handy and we love them! Battery can last about 40 miles, and they are fast and fun. https://blaupunkt.com/cus/. A bit smaller then a standard bike, but we chose these because they fold in half and we can put them under the RV or in the jeep!

I highly recommend the carriage trails, we did Eagle Lake to Jordan Pond. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/maine/eagle-lake. You can take a few other routes off of Eagle Lake, Eagle Lake is manageable on a regular bike for the whole family (a couple steeper inclines where you may need to take it slow), but the way to Jordans Pond is all downhill, which means in order to come back, you are really uphill for a few miles, so if that's not something you are into - cue electric bikes! There are also a lot of rentals in the area.

Everyone at the campground gathers for the sunset by the water, on the rocks and on the shore. It's a great vibe! Kids riding bikes and playing everywhere, small cabins if you don't have an RV, tent sites, and even a little restaurants and tiny outdoor cafe for coffee, morning bakery items and lobster rolls! Fire pits and each site, and you can kayak and paddle board right there too! Lots of fun! 5 stars!

Holiday Haven Campground PEI

July 15 - July 19 Prince Edward Island

CANADA! Wow! We were instantly blown away by the beauty of Price Edward Island! Also referred to mostly as PEI. Farm land for miles and miles and miles, lined by ocean, and cows and beautiful horses. We arrived at Holiday Haven Campground and instantly fell in love. It was hands down our favorite campground of the entire trip. We were up on a big hill, we had our own little porch and table, and we had a gorgeous view of the water our pretty much all our windows. There was a beautiful stretch of beach/ marsh that you could walk, and you could buy new potatoes road side at farm stands, they were delicious! We did home fries with them, and mashed potatoes. 10/10 recommend this campground. https://holidayhaven.ca/. Site 531.

We spent the next few days going in a few different directions in PEI. One direction we always went in was COWS CREAMERY!! https://cows.ca/ They are all over the island, so you really can't miss them! Nestled in all kinds of nooks and cranny's. We tried lots of flavors, our favorite was cookie dough, and don't miss the blueberry! Dat 1 we went to Cavendish beach. It was on hour from Holiday Haven, and a very scenic drive. The beach was beautiful, and we did not swim but that looked pretty perfect as well. Lots of families, and a life guard on duty. There were also bike and walking trails, it was so picturesque that it felt like we were in a movie! There was plenty of parking, and a small park fee. https://cavendishbeachpei.com/.

Day 2 we went to Summerside, because, well, Summer wanted to. Honestly, enjoy our photos and save the trip. This pour little town has so much potential, but unless you have family here or a good reason to drive an hour to see it, there is not that much going on. Lots of run down buildings and empty shops that just didn't make it. We did get a fabulous cappuccino (thank goodness) at Samuels Coffee House, all the food and drinks coming out were amazing, and clearly made with so much love. https://samuelscoffeehouse.ca/. There is also one in Cavendish, which is much more worth the drive for a visit, so if you do make it to Cavendish, absolutely make a stop here for some food or coffee, you will not be disappointed. On our way back to Holiday Haven, we did stop in Victoria Seaport, which was very quaint, and had 2 decent restaurants and a big quiet beach to roam, but again, lots of time in the car, my best advice, pack a picnic and be in it for a quiet lunch seaside and stay for a few hours to enjoy the views.

Final day in PEI we went to Charlottetown. (The night prior as well). We found a couple really fun restaurants and on our last morning Summer and I ventured out and found a yoga studio. I wish we ventured out sooner, the yoga studio was called MODO Yoga, and it was heated and perfect for what we needed. Some centering and balance from RV life, as much as we love it, a good workout outside of the RV is always appreciated. We had a wonderful instructor named Kenny, who used our names in class (no music, Hatha style (40 poses all called without vinyasa). It was perfect, I would absolutely go back. https://modoyoga.com/charlottetown/. The restaurants that we tried were also great. We had dinner at SeaRockets Oyster house our first night in town (our fav oysters of the trip, and a nice outdoor patio setting with live music that night in the street). The second night we went into town we ate at Claddagh Oyster House, fancy and delicious. Amazing Salmon, our favorite dish from what we got was the steak, SO GOOD! https://claddaghoysterhouse.com/ If you only have time to stop one place, absolutely check this one out.

Novia Scotia first stop Halifax area

July 19 - July 22

Woodhaven Campground sat about 30 minutes from the city of Halifax, and 15 from Bedford area, a smaller town with lots to offer as well. https://woodhavenrvpark.com/. We found this campground to be just ok, but had everything we needed. Our site was pretty tight and in very dense trees (which some people love!), we would have preferred a more open area, and we know this for next time. They had a small pool, and odd vibe but overall it was close to everything we needed and did the job. It seemed all the RV parks that we checked out in this area were the same or worse, so I would definitely recommend staying here for access to the city and exploring this area. https://woodhavenrvpark.com/.
