New Hampshire to the Florida Key

April 2024

Indigo Bluff. The last camp group we stayed at with our baby frenchie Chevy in Michigan, we named the RV after. We have been so excited for RV season to be back in action, and here we are, back on the road! Our favorite way of life for sure. Something about just being together, in a traveling home with our dogs, the absolute BEST. Brian, my hubby, is really good at doing the mapping out before we leave so that we are not behind the wheel too long each day. When you travel in an RV you do not go as fast down the highway, so your arrival times need to shift based off of the speed you are going to be able to go. We tow our jeep and we are pretty heavy, we are usually maxing out around 65/70. We are making a couple stops along the way before arriving in the keys, and a couple stops just to sleep.

We departed from NH at 8am Sunday, April 14. Our first stop https://koa.com/campgrounds/philadelphia-south/. This RV park was a little off the beaten path of the highway, but it was a perfect pit stop to sleep. Clean, easy to get in and out of, and in a nice little residential area. Would stay there again. Next stop, and a place we had stayed last April on our way to Hilton Head, https://www.rvresortatcarolinacrossroads.com/. One of our favorite stops along the highway. Super easy access, clean, safe and good energy! Quick dinner and a good night sleep, and back on the road to Hilton Head National RV park, https://www.hiltonheadrv.com/. We will be staying 2 nights so this one is a bit nicer and just opened last year. It is located right outside of Hilton Head, with an easy straight shot into the Island. Where we can wait to go back to a few of our favorite places, including Java Yoga Center! https://www.jivayogacenter.com/. A must stop if you are in the Hilton Head area.

We arrived safely at Hilton Head National RV resort! WOW! We will be back. How amazing of a place!! A little over 2 years old https://www.hiltonheadrv.com/

10/10, absolutely recommend. The pool was the nicest RV park pool I have ever seen, even a lazy river! They also have 2 beautiful dog parks, a dog washing station, an adults only RV section and 2 different pool/ club houses. This RV park was about a 15 minute drive to the Hilton Head area. We went to dinner at Fish Camp, this restaurant is right on the water, has a cool story, the vibe is awesome and the food was delicious. Make a day of it and rent paddle boards, or take a boat tour right next door!https://fishcamphhi.com/. We spent 2 nights, and have one long haul on the 18, to Naples Florida for 3 nights, where we will pick up Summers friend Zoey!

**Naples, Florida. This was our longest drive of the trip. It took us about 13 hours, and we were happy to arrive in Florida to perfect temps and sunshine! We find it really important people know that RV life is NOT for the faint hearted. You have to be pretty handy and willing to deal with allllll the things. So far just on this trip we have had to fix:

a leaky toilet (had to amazon prime the part to the RV resort we were staying at)

a leaky sink

the entire from frame of the jeep rattled loose that holds it to the tow bar, we had to remove the bumper and put it back together (I say we... Brian, lol)

our dryer belt broke

our AC wouldn't turn on (again, handy husband and google got it back up and running)

These things are part of it. You drive an entire home 80 miles an hour down bumpy highways for days at a time, you have to be prepared for these things, and you have to be ready to go with the flow when they need attention. If it's something that would alter your fun, don't get an RV! But if you can roll with the punches, it's the best life out there if you ask me! Getting to pack up once, and take your home anywhere you want to go?! the absolute coolest.**

Picking up Zoey at the airport yesterday was the highlight of this trip for Summer. They have been so close since pre-school, and have the absolute sweetest friendship. Zoey's flights from El Paso, to Dallas, to Fort Myers went smooth, and I was filled with tears when her plane landed. Zoeys mom is one of my best friends, and just knowing Zoey was on the ground safe made me so happy, she's like one of my own. She walked off the plane so tall, we haven't seen her in months and it's amazing how fast these kids grow from 12-13.

We are spending 3 nights at Naples Motorcoach Resort, what a BEAUTIFUL place!! We WILL be back. Gorgeous pool, amazing grounds, small community vibes and everyone is so nice. 3 pools, laundry, and right in the heart of Naples. about a 15-20 minute drive into Marco Island. https://www.sunlandrvresorts.com/florida/naples-motorcoach. Shell hunting is amazing, we ate dinner the the JW Marriott, pricy, but amazing views and dinner was just ok, but our toes were in the sand. https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/mrkfl-jw-marriott-marco-island-beach-resort/overview/?scid=f2ae0541-1279-4f24-b197-a979c79310b0

Saddle bunch Key here we come! It is a 6 hour drive with your gas stops included to Blue Water Key RV resort. https://bluewaterkey.com/.

WOW! We were blown away by this place! The sites on the water are amazing!! The sound in which you are located is calm, and was perfect for paddle boarding, kayaking and a little snorkeling! This RV resort has a great pool and rec room, as well as laundry, and a great area to walk your dog and relax. The sunrises were epic, and we happen to be there for some amazing moon rises as well! The dock on site 46 has blue lighting under the water, and at night it was like an aquarium! So many fish came out from under the dock and it was so much fun to watch them. We will absolutely be back. We enjoyed driving into key west, the drive took about 30 minutes and was really pretty! Here is a list of a few of our favorite places we ate and visited.
